Resumen
El murciélago de ventosas de LaVal Thyroptera lavali Pine 1993 (Chiroptera, Thyropteridae) es un murciélago considerado raro a lo largo de su distribución en América del Sur, con solo once localidades conocidas entre Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Venezuela. En este trabajo se reporta el primer registro de T. lavali para la Orinoquia colombiana y el segundo registro para el país. Este ejemplar fue capturado mediante redes de niebla en un ecosistema de sabana, 593.51 km al norte de la localidad previamente documentada en la Amazonia colombiana. Este nuevo registro cobra especial relevancia debido al limitado conocimiento que se tiene sobre la especie.
